भारत और उसके आसपास के देशों में लोग नाश्ते के साथ मठरी, नमकीन आदि खाते हैं।चाय के साथ इसका खाने का आनंद कुछ और ही होता है। इसे बनाने के लिए मैदे में बेकिंग पाउडर, नमक, अजवाइन, कसूरी मेथी, मोयन (घी)मिलाकर खूब कडा सानते हैं।तत्पश्चात उसे गोल गोल चपटा बेलकर धीमी आंच पर तलते हैं और हल्का लाल होने पर निकाल लेते हैं। इस प्रकार मठरी तैयार होती है। इसे ठंडा होने पर किसी एयर टाइट डिब्बे में पैक कर रख लीजिए और चाय के साथ खा कर मजे लीजिए।समूह द्वारा इसी प्रकार मठरी तैयार की जाती है।
